Planning board sets public hearing for Glidden Point proposal
The Edgecomb Planning Board Nov. 20 scheduled a public hearing on Glidden Oyster Farm Company's proposed expansion project. The company has submitted two proposals. One is for an oyster processing barn at 634 River Road.
The board held a Nov. 15 site visit. On Nov. 20, the board reviewed the application and found it "ready for a public hearing" without deciding whether the application was complete or incomplete.
The hearing is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 4 in the Edgecomb conference room.
In other action, the board tabled a Twisted Willow Farm site plan review. Ronald Cohen is representing the farm in its request for a change of use. Cohen and his client Rebecca Abbott of Boothbay proposed building two new structures on the River Road property. One is an indoor horse-riding arena with a viewing room. The other is a 20-stall boarding barn for animal boarding and training.
The board had planned on reviewing Robert Raffa's application for a site plan review of a proposed 79 mounted solar panels at 31 Cross Point Road. Instead, the board discovered Raffa's proposal fell under the code enforcement officer's jurisdiction.
The board meets next at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4 in the conference room.
