Join author and poet Maggie Dewane for a nature-inspired poetry workshop and reading from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Community Room at the Rockland Public Library at 80 Union St. on Friday, Aug. 29.

Maggie will discuss the benefits of nature journaling and guide participants through using haiku poetry as a tool of nature-based creative expression and mindfulness. Following a brief reading from Maggie's book, "Haiku and Hope: 50 States of Climate Change," participants will have the opportunity to craft and share their own haiku drawing inspiration from their favorite places.
