Please join Jason Putnam, candidate for the Maine House, at his campaign kick off celebration next Thursday, July 26 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the barn attached to the Ledges Inn, on 211 Main St. in Wiscasset. There will be light refreshments, music and a chance to meet and find out more about the candidate.

Putnam is running for House District 87, which includes Alna, Pittston, Randolph, and Wiscasset. Jason lives in Wiscasset with his wife Rachel, and their sons, Henry and Ivan, who are both in Wiscasset public schools. He is a carpenter, and small business owner, and also finds time to serve on the Wiscasset School Committee and the Ordinance Review Committee.

Jason is a strong advocate for public schools, and believes that every child should be prepared for adult life with a solid education. His experience in the skilled trades has informed his approach to higher education, where he believes students should be offered a range of opportunities, from shop class in high school, to apprenticeships, to two year degrees, to four year degrees. His wife works as a nurse at Miles Memorial Hospital, which has also helped him to develop his strong position on affordable healthcare for every Maine citizen.
