Putnam Smith at Round Top Coffee House
The DRA’s Round Top Coffee House welcomes Putnam Smith on Friday, Sept. 13 as its featured artist. This will be our last concert in the beautiful Darrows barn for the 2013 summer, so be sure to come out and hear how Putnam Smith fills it up with great homespun music.
Putnam, who hails from Portland, plays his grandfather's banjo, and prints up the jackets to his CDs on an antique letterpress. Yet this rootsy multi-instrumentalist songwriter (he also writes and performs on guitar, mandolin, fretless banjo and piano), steeped as he is in Appalachian traditions, is very much a storyteller for the modern age.
The DRA Round Top Coffee House is held at DRA’s Round Top Farm, 3 Round Top Lane, just off US Route 1B (Main Street) in Damariscotta, with onsite parking. The venue is across the street from Hammond Lumber and next to Round Top Ice Cream.
Admission is $7 ($4 for seniors, free for kids 12 and under). For more information call Heather Hardy or Jason Anthony at 207-677-2354 or the DRA at 207-563-1393.
