Return Senator Reny to Augusta
Dear Editor:
Children.
The most vulnerable folks in our state have no vote in their future. They depend on the “collective wisdom” of their elders to protect them, look out for their well-being, and make certain they receive an education worthy of their future.
Families.
Ongoing cuts to federal programs and rising costs have created unanticipated stress for young families making their way in a tough economy. Parents of young children have enough to worry about—finding safe, suitable, and affordable care for their children while meeting these economic demands shouldn’t be an impossible burden.
Senator Cameron Reny, born and raised in Lincoln County, has spent her career in public service, working with families as a public school counselor and representing us in Augusta. She’s demonstrated her commitment to children and families through her work on child-care affordability. Her legislation has helped expand access to subsidized care, increase the supply of child-care slots, and reduce costs for families, while helping ensure that providers are fairly compensated.
Let’s return Senator Reny to Augusta. Our children cannot vote for their future. We can—and we should make sure they have Cameron Reny in their corner.
