Sale progressing for Boothbay’s Coburn House
The Bank of Maine and whoever is buying the Coburn House in Boothbay are still on track for a closing within weeks, an auctioneer said October 31.
“Things are moving nicely toward closing. I don't see any reason why it won't close,” said Stefan Keenan of Keenan Auction Company.
The property is under contract with the unnamed high bidder from an October 18 auction. The $75,000 bid was negotiated higher, Keenan said. He would not divulge the amount.
The buyer's identity becomes public once a deed is filed at the Lincoln County Registry of Deeds. The closing is supposed to take place within 30 days of the auction, which would make it by November 17. Asked if the closing has been scheduled, Keenan said only that it would be within the 30-day period.
Meanwhile, the former Davis Island Grill in Edgecomb and two attached condominiums the bank also pulled from the October 18 sale have no new auction date.
Work is continuing on the floor plans that would be needed for title insurance, Keenan said.
