Salt Bay Chamberfest announces new managing director
The Salt Bay Chamberfest is pleased to announce the appointment of Sarah Glenn as Managing Director. Sarah will fill a vacancy created when Kit Pfeiffer retires at the end of August.
Glenn comes to Salt Bay Chamberfest with more than 10 years of arts administration experience. For the past five years, she has coordinated education and community engagement initiatives for the Boston Symphony Orchestra, including the BSO's Community Chamber Concert series, Youth & Family Concerts, and many other community-based programs.
Prior to that, she was the annual fund manager at the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Throughout her time in Boston, she taught violin and organized the music instruction program at the North End Music and Performing Arts Center. Sarah is an active musician and educator. She resides in Lincolnville with her husband and two children.
“I am delighted to join Salt Bay Chamberfest as it begins to celebrate its 20th anniversary year. Clearly something wonderful is in the air with this festival,” said Glenn. “Everyone I talk with speaks of concert experiences unlike any they have been to, experiences that draw them deeply into the music.
"The musicians are of the finest quality and they are all committed to connecting with their audiences and introducing them to new composers. I am proud to be associated with Salt Bay Chamberfest and will work tirelessly to make sure this community jewel continues to thrive in midcoast Maine."
Salt Bay Chamberfest’s 2013 Festival, Music of the People, takes place this year from August 6 to 16 at the Darrows Barn at Round Top in Damariscotta, with four concerts, two masterclasses, a Music & Nature Camp at the DRA, and a free family concert at Lincoln Theater.
