Sarah's Cafe catered Al Roker, Craig Melvin and a crew from NBC's “Today” show this week. The Water Street, Wiscasset business got the request last week, to be ready to cater a lobster bake Monday night and breakfast Tuesday before the “Today” show aired from Georgetown, Sarah Heald’s son Matthew Norris said in an email to the Wiscasset Newspaper Wednesday.

The private bake happened as did the breakfast, Heald said in a phone interview Thursday about the family-owned business’s  serving the show. Heald said Sarah’s has been catering all over Maine for more than 38 years and was delighted to cater the show in Georgetown where the family is from.  “And we were proud to serve our good, homemade food.”

Norris said in the email, “We nailed it. It was fun. What great exposure, for all involved. Al Roker and Craig (Melvin) ... and their crew are so down to earth, mild mannered and were awe-stricken by the beauty of our hidden coastline.” Norris added he was proud to be a Mainer, a Georgetown landowner and to own “such an authentically Maine restaurant” with his mother.
