Sick of Swiping event at Coastal Prime Sept. 12
Sick of Swiping (SOS) is a Maine-based series of offline dating events designed to help people get off of dating apps and into real-life connections at some favorite local spots. There's an upcoming SOS event at Coastal Prime in Boothbay Harbor Saturday, Sept. 12 from 2 to 5 p.m. SOS hopes to provide a fun afternoon for singles in the Midcoast.
Sick of Swiping was founded by Emily and Gracie, two friends who met working at Apéro Cocktails & Charcuterie in Biddeford, Maine and decided to create the kind of fun, welcoming dating nights they wished existed: relaxed, social, and genuinely good vibes.
Here’s what SOS is all about:
Not a “Cringe Singles Mixer:” No awkward name tags, no forced conversations, and no structured speed dating.
A Vibe-Forward Fun Time: Think slow-sipped cocktails, spontaneous conversation, and genuine flirting.
An Analog Experience: No phones at SOS! Just like-minded singles mingling with intention. Want a cutie’s number? Pens and “cutie cards” (to share your phone number or Instagram handle) are provided.
Wingpeople Welcome!: Guests can bring a friend (single or not); bracelets are given at the door to help signal who’s who.
Inclusive by Design: SOS is for our whole community and neighbors, including all genders, orientations, immigrants and new Mainers; everyone belongs and deserves to feel safe. A “gem code” is provided for those who desire to share their orientation. (More info available at the door.)
Hosted at Vibey Local Hot Spots: A fun excuse to get out, support local businesses, and meet new people.
Community + Chemistry: Guests leave with more than a number: new friends, a new crush, or at minimum a great night out!
Connect via their Instagram account where you can also follow for more context about past events and see what's coming up.
