The Skidompha Secondhand Book Shop in downtown Damariscotta will be open all day on Thursday, July 4.

The shop’s co-manager Rosie Bensen explains that normally the shop is closed on the holiday, but, “thanks to some committed volunteers, we’ll be open 9 to 6, our usual Thursday hours.”

During the holiday week, art books will be on sale at half price.

The book shop, located on the river at 17 Backstreet Landing, is a major fundraiser for Skidompha Public Library. All items are donated, all staff members are volunteers, and all proceeds support the library’s programs and collections.
