Snow for all, but not much
A storm due in to Lincoln County January 18 slowed down and stayed further south than expected. The result was a largely snow-free day. But the snow’s delayed onset meant it might linger later into the night, probably ending about midnight, said meteorologist Margaret Curtis of the National Weather Service’s Gray office.
In addition, as temperatures slipped with nightfall, the rain and rain-snow mix initially predicted for the Boothbay peninsula would likely be coming down as snow instead, Curtis said Saturday evening. But none of Lincoln County was expected to get much snow, she said.
Southernmost Maine saw a substantial snowfall, with Saco getting four inches and South Berwick, near the New Hampshire border, receiving six inches, Curtis said.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office reported no slide-offs early Saturday night.
