Strawberry festival welcomes crafters June 25
St. Philip’s Church, 12 Hodge St., Wiscasset, invites craftspeople to be part of its Strawberry Festival 68 on Saturday, June 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. As the Festival will be mainly out-of-doors, crafters can, for a fee of $25, have a 10 by 10-foot space on the church grounds designated for their use. Craftspeople should plan on bringing their own canopy and display materials.
The main attraction, of course, is the time-honored strawberry shortcake assemblage: homemade biscuits, native berries, real whipped cream or locally made ice cream. As in years past, there will also be fresh-picked quarts of berries for sale. Let St. Philip’s people do the picking for you.
The newly revamped Bargain Basement with loads of amazing deals, an antique table, a bake table and a plant table will also be available for some shopping therapy. A children’s area with games and activities for the little ones will be open for their delight.
Troubadour Matt O’Donnell, as well as St. Philip’s summer organist/choir director Rocket Curtis will provide music to sooth – or rocket – people as they wander, eat shortcake, munch on hot dogs and buy this or that treasure. Don’t be surprised if Rocket gets you singing or ringing a bell!
