Support the Edgecomb Community Church Steeple Fund

The Edgecomb Community Church (ECC) has been at its present location at 15 Cross Point Road, Edgecomb since 1881. A prominent local landmark, this historic church has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1987. The Edgecomb Community Church steeple is a symbol and beacon of hope, helping those in need.

The ECC recently began a campaign to raise funds to repair the steeple which has suffered structural damage. We church has requested support from various foundations, church members, friends and neighbors. A $15,000 matching grant was awarded from the Maine Steeple Fund managed by the Maine Community Foundation in Ellsworth, Maine. To date we have raised $21,500 toward our goal of $35,000. Repairs, by Mid Maine Restoration in conjunction with G&E Roofing Co., will begin later this year.

As the only active church in Edgecomb, we support the community, the penninsula and Lincoln County in many ways. Following are a few examples:

  • Free weekly lunches for the public
  • Support for the Eldercare Network of Lincoln County
  • Fuel assistance for the peninsula
  • Support for Abused Women
  • Tedford Shelter in Brunswick
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Boothbay Region Food Pantry
  • Boothbay Region Community Resource Council
  • LincolnHealth

Donations to support the repair to the historic steeple may be made by sending a check or money order payable to the ECC Steeple Fund, P.O. Box 113, Edgecomb, ME 04556. Donations may also be given on the church website, Edgecombchurch.org. Click on "support" to make your gift. For more information, please contact Richard O'Connor at 207-882-4060
