“Creating Gardiner” was produced last year by Lee Arnott of Sweet Thunder Productions. Arnott submitted the documentary to MPBN’s Community Film Series, films about Maine or by Mainers.

”I literally found out yesterday (June 26) that it was airing this week,” Arnott said adding she had been hoping for more notice. “’Creating Gardiner’ airs Thursday, June 30 at 10 p.m. and again on Saturday, July 2 at 11 a.m.”

Arnott was a resident of Boothbay for 10 years and did video work for BRCTV Channel 7 “back in the day” when Rick Prose was directing action there. She was also a resident of Wiscasset for several years. Arnott learned her documentary had been selected for the film series back in December of 2015. She spent some time whittling it down from its original 81 minutes to 58 to accommodate the time slot.

“It’s a 60-minute documentary celebrating creative people and spaces in Gardiner,” said Arnott. “It features a painter, sculptor, dancer, singer and a chef. And, yes, it’s very exciting!”

The project was funded by The Creativity Fund for Gardiner.
