The Two Bridges Regional Jail Authority Aug. 1 had an executive session, then in open session voted to have members and the administrator work toward a contract with Penobscot County. The work is to follow parameters set in the executive session.
Penobscot County has worked with TBRJ in the past, but avoided signing a new contract until a jail funding issue at the state level was put to rest. The Legislature agreed to supplemental funding for county jails during the summer emergency session.
