Dear Editor:

Earlier this spring two of Wiscasset’s amazing teachers brought the work of over 100 of our young people to an art show at our own Maine Art Gallery. It was truly a celebration of the tradition and culture our town has long been known for plus a look towards our brightest future with so many talented young artists able to display their works. 

Shalimar Poulin of the Wiscasset Middle High School and Liz Profferty of the Wiscasset Elementary School collaborated closely with the volunteers of our Maine Art Gallery to make this collection of Wiscasset’s great promise a huge success. 

Kudos to Shalimar, Liz, the Maine Art Gallery, and all our student artists for shining a light on the possibilities that are realized when we pull together as a community to showcase our excellence! How lucky we all are.
