‘Touch a Truck’ comes to Wiscasset
For all those car and truck lovers out there, the Maine Chapter of the March of Dimes has teamed up with Coastal Kids Preschool of Damariscotta to bring a new family-friendly event to the Midcoast: “Touch-a-Truck.”
“Touch a Truck” will be presented at the Wiscasset Speedway on Sunday, Sept. 21, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and will feature dozens of vehicles for kids to explore from antique cars to emergency and construction vehicles.
Also scheduled for the day is the L.L. Bean “Bootmobile,” the touch tank from the Maine State Aquarium, a performance by the Renys Rockets, a craft area by Coastal Kids Preschool, adoptable dogs from the Lincoln County Animal Shelter, vendor tables, the Miles Moose, Miles healthcare clinics, and by DJ Entertainment by Walter and Vikki.
Admission is $5 per person, with a family maximum admission of $20.
A barbecue picnic lunch following the “5-2-1-0” nutrition guidelines will be served, courtesy of Hannaford.
“Touch a Truck” will benefit programming at the March of Dimes, whose research is done to combat prematurity, birth defects and neonatal demise, and Coastal Kids Preschool, a non-profit school which provides a high-quality, inclusive, developmentally appropriate curriculum to preschool aged children throughout the Midcoast.
Vehicles are still being sought for this event including boats, RVs, motorcycles, go karts, antique vehicles, trucks or anything unique.
“Touch a Truck” is presented by Cheney Financial Services, Northeast Security and Renys, and is sponsored by Harvard Pilgrim, Hannaford Supermarkets, Wiscasset Speedway, Atlantic Motorcar, Newcastle Chrysler, Clark Farms, The Kidz Closet, The Animal House, Norm’s Used Cars, Miles Memorial-LincolnHealth and Origami Owl.
