Trout Fishing in America will be performing live at The Waldo Saturday, April 13 at 4 p.m. for music lovers of all ages - so bring the kids! Known as the “Lennon and McCartney of children’s music,” the musical performing duo has garnered National Indie Awards, Parents Choice Gold Awards, American Library Awards and four Grammy nominations.

Trout Fishing in America is the songwriting collaboration of Keith Grimwood and Ezra Idlet. As the Philadelphia Inquirer has noted, (these) “wily performers alternate between folk-rock and kids' genres. They throw the musical kitchen sink into their songs: folk, reggae, Cajun, blues, tango, rap and comedy routines.”

For almost 50 years, their vibrant, percussive sound and dynamic stage presence have cultivated a multi-generational fan base at performing arts centers, clubs, and music festivals across the country. Trout blends rock-n-roll, blues, funk, folk, and jazz influences with lyrics that are simultaneously witty, whimsical, and poignant. Known for songs like “My Hair Had a Party Last Night,” about waking up to a very bad hair day, “Eighteen Wheels on a Big Rig,” a counting song about trucks, or the gross “Alien in My Nose,” Idlet and Grimwood can perform from the point of view of a 6-year-old or charm the adult crowd with folksy love songs.  For more about this duo: https://www.troutmusic.com.

Having released 25 albums on their own Trout Records label and traveled over a million miles while touring the United States and Canada, Trout Fishing in America is a band of stunning contrasts. Those contrasts, their deep, abiding friendship, and their solid musicianship bring people out to Trout shows year after year.  General admission tickets are available for $15 in advance, $20 the day of the event. If not sold out, tickets will be at the box office starting when the doors open at 3 p.m. All ticket sales final and non-refundable. Concessions are available.
