‘Ukulele for You’ course
If you love music, whether making it or dancing to it Central Lincoln County Adult Education has a class for you.
Learn how to play the ukulele in Ukulele for You, starting Wednesday, Sept. 25 and running through October 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Great Salt Bay School in Damariscotta. You don’t have to read music to have fun playing the ukulele. Ukulele is one hot instrument all over the country right now and Maine is part of that revival with uke groups springing up all over the place.
In these beginning sessions you will learn how to form basic chords, strum a tune and sing along to songs you know well. A love of fun is the only requirement needed to learn to play this “happy sounding instrument!”
Instructor, Celia E. Jones, has been a music teacher for over 40 years in Maine, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Sao Paulo, Brazil and Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. She currently teaches privately and teaches ukulele in Camden Hills Adult Education’s program. The cost of the course is $59 if you register by September 18 and $64 for all other registrations.
