Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Damariscotta will host a kickoff event Sunday, Aug. 18, from 4 to 6 p.m., at Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust - Round Top Farm, at 3 Round Top Lane, Damariscotta. This open house style event welcomes everyone to this free event to learn more about the Making Strides event, to see where donations go, to get inspiration for fundraisers, to hear about the political advocacy group American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, and to take a social media-ready photo. There will be brief remarks during the event.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Damariscotta is a noncompetitive walk set for Sunday, Oct. 27, at 1 p.m., at First National Bank, Damariscotta. Dollars raised by Making Strides events help the American Cancer Society ensure no one faces breast cancer alone by funding innovative breast cancer research, promoting education and risk reduction and providing comprehensive patient support to those who need it most.
