Upcoming March Adult Ed classes
If you have trouble remembering people's names or recalling information then you’ll want to take Secrets for Improving Your Memory, a fast paced, diversified, one evening class on Monday, March 11. We will discuss random and sequential access, remembering names, and the code to remembering numbers. These skills will remain with you for life. The time is 6-8 p.m. and the cost is $15.
Unleash the power of MAC iPhoto in this beginner level class on March 12 and 14 from 6-8 p.m. Import, organize, manipulate and save your digital photographs. Learn to work with albums, slideshows, and editing. Please bring a MAC laptop if you have one and a thumb drive for saving your photos or use one of our MAC computers (bring your photos on a thumb drive). The class meets at the elementary school, and the fee is $28.
In Eating for a Healthy You, wewill focus on making choices for good nutrition with practical, down to earth tips and information to improve your health, and increase energy. On the second evening Amy Ronan will show you how easy it is to prepare a healthy meal including a seafood saute, fiesta rice, cranberry spinach salad and fresh fruit tart. This two evening class is on March 12 (6-7:30 p.m.) at the high school, and March 14 (6-8 p.m.) in the home sciences room at the elementary school. The cost is $18.
Take Advanced Word to expand on using the more advanced features of Microsoft Word. Learn about tables and borders, graphics, bullets and numbered lists, columns, customizing templates, page layout, forms, and mail merge. This three session class is on March 12, 14 and 19, 6-8 p.m. The fee is $35. Prerequisite: Basic skills in Microsoft Word.
Are you turning 65 soon, and aren’t sure how this Medicare thing works. In this informative one evening workshop, I’m Turning 65 (Cutting Through the Red Tape), Wanda Thomas, an Aging and Disabilities Resource Counselor, will provide information you need to know. Get answers to questions such as do I automatically qualify for Medicare, how does it work, should I consider a Medicare supplement, and what are my options. This workshop is free, but you need to register in advance. The date is Wednesday, March 13 from 6-8 p.m.
Yoga brings mind, body and spirit together to help you stay fit and healthy and achieve more balance and harmony in an often-busy world. Intro to Yoga is a one evening workshop with Romee May to learn the benefits of yoga and some of the fundamental yoga poses, simple stretches, and breathing. Wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring a mat or towel. The date is Wednesday, March 13, 6-7:30 p.m. and the cost is $10.
On March 19 you can learn how to make Marshmallow Peeps at home for a special Easter treat. Or if your computer is running slow take P.C. Troubleshooting and Maintenance on March 18 and 20tolearn problem solving techniques, and routine maintenance to keep it running smoothly.
