A Southport woman was treated at the scene and later transported to Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta following a rollover on Route 27 in Boothbay around 8:30 a.m. Thursday.

According to Lincoln County Sheriff Lieutenant Brendan Kane, Sandy Timberlake-Tibbetts, 50, overcompensated while trying to avoid hitting a car she was following that had slowed down. Timberlake-Tibbetts was alone in the car.

"She hit the shoulder and did a slow roll down the embankment and the car ended up on its roof," said Kane.

Kane said Timberlake-Tibbetts was wearing a seat belt; she was able to exit her upside down 2021 Toyota RAV4 before help arrived.

Kane said damage to the car was minimal.
