Vegetarian cooking: Leafy greens
The FARMS Community Kitchen “Leafy Greens” class is the first in a series of vegetarian cooking classes to be offered on three March and April Thursdays, 6-8 p.m., at the Community Kitchen, 323 Main Street, Damariscotta (above the Rising Tide Market).
Come sit on one of the comfortable stools around the Community Kitchen’s central island and help whole foods cook Sharon Sandstrum prepare three flavorful dishes.
On Thursday, March 5, the class will be cooking Collard Roll Ups, Swiss Chard and Lemony Lentil Soup and Kale and Brussels Sprout Salad
Classes on two subsequent Thursdays will feature Whole Grains (March 19) and Beans (April 23). Each class is all about cooking and eating together. All meals will be vegetarian, gluten free and made with local, organic ingredients as available.
The cost of $25 per class (or $65 for all three classes) includes a generous sampling of all the dishes and take-home recipes.
