Veggies to Table is pleased to announce an upcoming Mushroom Walk and Foraging Workshop with renowned mushroom author and educator Greg Marley on Sunday, Aug. 24 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Veggies to Table farm in Newcastle.

The workshop will begin with a presentation on “Foolproof” mushrooms—common edible mushrooms that are easy to identify and have no toxic look-alikes—followed by a guided foraging walk along the farm’s trails. Participants are also invited to bring fresh mushrooms they’ve collected locally for expert identification.

Mushroom foraging can feel intimidating for beginners, with so many varieties and the risks of misidentification. This workshop offers a safe, hands-on opportunity to learn the basics of mushroom identification, build confidence, and discover delicious, safe-to-harvest mushrooms right in the Maine woods.
