Vote for Ross

Dear Editor:

I write in support of the election of Wendy S. Ross to the Maine House of Representatives for House District 87, where she will represent the people of Wiscasset, Alna, Pittston and Randolph.

I met Wendy several years ago when we both became involved as volunteers advocating for the health, safety and quality of life of Maine women and men. We reached out to our communities and joined with other groups to advocate for good policy and to provide needed information about health care.

When considering who we choose to represent us in Augusta, we need people who will work collaboratively with others. Wendy offers her talents generously, while also

demonstrating her strengths in listening and working with others who hold different points of view.

I know Wendy to be extremely smart, dedicated, energetic and ethical. As a woman, a mother of four grown sons and a grandmother of two, Wendy understands the challenges women and families face. She knows the difficulty of balancing work and home responsibilities and will be a strong supporter of family-friendly policies such as maternity leave and affordable, high-quality childcare, policies that are so critical to our health, well-being, and financial security.

From my perspective as a legislator who was inspired to serve by the need for strong advocacy for good policies, I know Wendy will be an excellent representative for her district. She will bring her commitment, her ability to work collaboratively, and her persistent follow through to the critical work that is needed for the people of HD 87.

Rep. Joyce McCreight, House District 51
