Woody (voice of Tom Hanks), Buzz Lightyear (voice of Tim Allen), Jessie (voice of Joan Cusack) and the rest of the gang's jobs are challenged when they come face-to-face with Lilypad (voice of Greta Lee), a brand-new tablet device that arrives with her own disruptive ideas about what is best for their kid, Bonnie. Will playtime ever be the same? Wednesday, July 1, 2 p.m. (OCAP), Thursday, July 2, 7 p.m
"1776" - (NR; 2 hours, 21 minutes) - One show only: Wednesday, July 1. In celebration of America’s 250th birthday, Harbor Theater and The Community Center invite the public to a special evening of history, music, and community to a screening of the award-winning movie musical "1776." Set in Philadelphia during the days leading up to the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the film brings the nation’s founding to life with humor, drama, and memorable music. Audiences will meet the all-too-human John Adams, the “obnoxious and disliked” alongside Benjamin Franklin, the mastermind behind the scenes, and Thomas Jefferson, who delays writing the Declaration for a reunion with his wife. Together, they must persuade the colonies to support independence, knowing that a single “nay” vote could alter the course of history forever. Nominated by the American Film Institute as one of the greatest movie musicals of all time. "1776" has been praised as “warm, funny, and moving,” making it a fitting tribute to the ideals, personalities, and debates that shaped a new nation - our nation. Doors open at 6 p.m. with a reception featuring light bites, sweet treats, Patriot Punch; and colonial reenactors. Film screens at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $25, with proceeds supporting The Community Center’s vital programs and services for the Boothbay region.
