On Monday, April 29, Wiscasset Elementary School fourth and fifth graders attended a Portland Symphony Orchestra Youth Concert at the Merrill Auditorium in Portland. This field trip was made possible via a field trip grant from Target. Thank you, Target for this wonderful opportunity!

We sat up high in the balcony and could easily see all the instrument families. Some of the music we enjoyed included Copland’s "Fanfare for the Common Man," Offenbach's "Can Can," Beethoven's "7th Symphony, 2nd movement," Greig's "Morning Mood" and Stravinsky's "Finale" from The Firebird ballet.

After the concert, students enjoyed lunch at McDonald's.
