Obituary

William P. Browne Jr.

Tue, 03/26/2013 - 12:45pm

A graceful parting of one of the nicest guys ever, William Prichard Browne Jr., of Back River Road, Boothbay died suddenly on March 16, 2013. Will was born July 2, 1930, in New York City and raised in New Canaan, Conn.

He was a Southport summer resident since the age of six at Hendricks Head Light. After graduating from Harvard, he served in the Korean war.

His passions and livelihood were with landscaping and tree work.  And he was the president of Macnab’s Tearoom.

He leaves behind his wife Frances, and his three sons, Clifford of Ridgefield, Conn., Thomas of New Millford, Conn., and Jeffrey of Boothbay;  and a sister, Mary, of Damariscotta.

His persistence and routine of countless gentle contributions will be impossible to replicate and will be greatly missed.

Family and friends are invited to an Afternoon Tea of Remembrance at MacNab’s Sunday, April 7, from 1-3 p.m.
