Wiscasset considers proposed tavern

The Wiscasset Planning Board on Monday considered an application for a tavern in the Wawenock Block.

Daniel Dyer, who owns Wild Burrito restaurant in Portland, plans to offer food, adult beverages and live music at 65 Main St. He plans a full menu.

The board found the application incomplete for lack of the correct name for the property owner, Wawenock LLC, c/o Palmetto States. Other missing items including tax map and lot information, a site plan sketch, and proof of standing were remedied at the meeting. Dyer will have to come back to the board with more information.

The board signed the Dollar General site plans for the proposed store on Bath Road at the former Huber Market site. Dollar General has an appeal pending over the size of its signage.

The board welcomed Steve Wallace as a new member. Wallace replaces Ray Soule, who resigned effective Feb. 20.
