Wiscasset Lions elect 2013-2014 officers
The Wiscasset Lions Club elected a new King Lion at its bi-monthly meeting at Ship’s Chow Hall March 6 as well as their slate of officers to for the 2013-2014 year.
Robert Fairfield Sr. was elected to replace King Lion Alan Brawn of Woolwich, who has served in the position for the past four years. Fairfield has been the first vice president for the past year.
Other officers elected were Gloria Brawn as first vice president, Jane Albert was re-elected secretary, and Robert Albert was re-elected treasurer.
Other officers elected include: Directors for one year, Marguerite Fairfield, Shawn Mailly and Arthur Brawn; Directors for two years, Schuyler Fairfield, Mary Ellen Barnes, and Ruthie Brawn; Membership Committee members, Chairman Alan Brawn, Jessica Brawn and Tina Fitzsimmons. Eye Glass committee chair Susan Varney.
Marita Fairfield was elected as the Tail Twister/Lion Tamer, however, she later declined the position siting a very busy schedule that would not allow her to fulfill the duties of that office. Her replacement will be discussed at the next meeting, March 20, at the CEI office on Water Street, at 6:30 p.m.
The new officers will be installed at the first meeting in June, before recessing for the summer months (July and August) resuming their meetings in September.
