A Wiscasset man on probation was rearrested after he allegedly failed a drug test.

Gary Joslyn, 38, of Wiscasset, was arrested by the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office on Feb. 4 and charged with Class E violating the conditions of his release after he reportedly failed a drug test, allegedly testing positive for methamphetamine and amphetamines. Joslyn pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Deputy James Read met with Joslyn on Feb. 4, and administered a drug test, which Joslyn allegedly failed. Joslyn reportedly told Read that he had never used methamphetamine or amphetamines, and that he only knew what they looked like from television shows.

Soon thereafter, Joslyn was arrested and charged with allegedly violating the conditions of his release. Joslyn was on bail for two pending motions to revoke his probation, and one of his conditions of release was to neither use nor possess illegal drugs.

He was held on $500 cash bail and was ordered to appear in Lincoln County Superior Court on March 5.

Joslyn pleaded guilty to felony possession of a scheduled drug in 2014 following a 2013 arrest. He was originally sentenced to two years in prison with all but six months suspended, in addition to two years' of probation.

On July 9, 2014 Joslyn reported to the sheriff's office for his probation, and was given a random drug screening. Joslyn reportedly told Probation Officer Kevin Buckmore that he would fail the test for marijuana and Suboxone; according to Buckmore's report, Joslyn allegedly tested positive for cocaine, amphetamines, Oxycodone, marijuana and Suboxone.

Joslyn allegedly admitted to using the substances, but allegedly said that they would be out of his system prior to testing.

On Dec. 18, while Joslyn was in Two Bridge's diversion program, he allegedly tested positive for Suboxone during a random drug screening, and was rearrested and charged with violating the conditions of his release.
