Wiscasset signs Dollar General’s final plans
Construction will start on Dollar General's Route 1, Wiscasset store by the end of June, and the store will "certainly" open by Christmas, Chris Nadeau of Concord, New Hampshire-based engineering firm Nobis Group said Monday night outside a planning board meeting. The board had just signed the business's final plans.
"Thank you very much. Welcome to Wiscasset," Chair Karl Olson told Nadeau after votes to sign the plans with the condition a surveyor puts in monuments.
Nadeau told the board of a change: The loading area will be beside, not behind the store. Maine Department of Transportation and Wiscasset code enforcement both reviewed the change, he said.
