Wiscasset’s Museum in the Streets plans 2013 launch
The Wiscasset’s Museum in the Streets Committee has signed a contract with Patrick Cardon and The Museum in the Streets and sent in the first payment, bringing this much anticipated project closer to fruition.
“We are very excited about taking this significant step forward,” Volunteer Committee President Ed Kavanagh said. “Our target launch date is July 2013, but much remains to be done before then. We are more than halfway toward our financial goal with cash and pledges, but we still need public support and donations to get to the finish line. We are very grateful to everyone who has contributed so far.”
Wiscasset’s Museum in the Streets will tell the inspiring and engaging story of our community through a permanent, self-guided walking tour. The tour consists of a series of panels placed throughout the village.
A tour map, available at each panel and at local businesses, will guide the walker from panel to panel on a fascinating self-guided tour of Wiscasset’s past. You can start the tour wherever you choose or follow the route described in the map.
The committee needs your help to make this exciting project a reality. If you have questions or want to contribute please call Ed Kavanagh at 207-882-4393. Donations can be sent directly to Wiscasset Museum in the Streets, P.O. Box 16, Wiscasset, ME 04578.
