WMHS seniors prepare for class trip

On Friday, March 29, the Wiscasset Middle High School class of 2019 hosted a “Night of Fun” for grades 6-12 at the high school.

As graduation approaches, the senior class has been preparing for both the class trip and project graduation. The seniors have met many times recently to decide what to do for each, and in the meantime they have been working hard to raise money to support their plans.

The event was admission by donation, and had a movie playing on the projector in the school gym and a concessions table for students to buy snacks and drinks to boost funds. There was also a room that had video, board and card games.

Co-President of the Senior Class Matthew Chapman said, “the senior class brainstormed certain ideas for raising money ... We chose this fundraiser because it was a win-win for both sides. We were able to raise money while getting the whole student body involved, which was our goal.

Other Co-President Sydnie Thayer also noted that “everyone in the senior class has been making an effort to raise money for the end of the year activities, and everyone has come together to make senior year the best that it can be."

Graduation is June 6.
