Woolwich awards town addition bid
The Woolwich board of selectmen has awarded the bid to construct the town hall addition project to Bruce Laukka, Inc. of West Rockport, according to meeting minutes from September 4.
At $218,504, Laukka's bid was the lowest of six selectmen received. Acceptance of the bid is “pending the receipt of the contractor’s performance and payment bond paperwork,” according to meeting minutes.
Other bidders included Frohmiller Construction, Blane Casey, Atlantic Mechanical, Crapott’s Corp, Ganneston Builders and Doten’s. D.J. Electric submitted a partial bid.
Building committee member Arthur Brawn brought the tattered flag in Tanner Square to the attention of selectmen. Town Administrator Lynette Eastman plans to contact the American Legion to attempt to order a new flag.
Lieut. Bill Longley reported a newly reinlisted deputy chief, Dominic Maccio. Maccio is also deputy fire chief.
Guy Marsden has resigned from the solid waste and recycling committee.
Town Administrator Eastman was subpoenaed to the U.S. disctrict court in October, regarding an RSU 1 case.
