YMCAs announce joint program guide for Lincoln County

Both working within Lincoln County, Boothbay Region (BR) and Central Lincoln County (CLC) YMCAs are partner organizations working together closely to best serve the community for greater, healthier impact. Members at both Ys receive full reciprocity benefits at either Y. For example, a member at CLC YMCA can take aquatic programs or utilize open swim as if they were a BR YMCA member, or similarly a BR YMCA member can take FARMS at the Y cooking classes as if they were a CLC YMCA member — at member rates.

Lauren Ober, Member Services Director for CLC YMCA, says, “A recent membership report showed that 195 Boothbay Region YMCA members are regularly using the CLC facility. Over the course of the past 11 months, we’ve had 2,146 check-ins at CLC from Boothbay Region YMCA members. This really captures how beneficial it is that we are fully reciprocal with the Y that is only 25 minutes down the road.” The Boothbay Region YMCA has had 391 individual members from the CLC YMCA check in; with a total of 6,179 check-ins over the past 11 months.

To further communicate the benefits of their shared services, on Dec. 16, the two YMCAs will be releasing a joint program guide for their Winter I Session starting Jan. 6. The guide will be a complete brochure on all program opportunities at both locations, from group exercise classes, to youth sports, to child care, to evidence-based health interventions, to special events, and more.

The decision to create a joint program guide stemmed from discussions between the YMCAs through a joint strategic planning task force. This task force includes staff and board members from both YMCAs and the objective is to strategize on how to best serve the Lincoln County area. The two YMCAs also currently partner with shared staffing positions, select special events, programming, and joint staff retreats.

The new joint program guide will be available at both YMCA locations and online at boothbayregionymca.org and clcymca.org
