Youth Art Show and ‘Elisif’s Story’ at Wiscasset Community Center Wednesday, May 14
Seven Wiscasset Middle High School students took part in art workshops led by the nonprofit Studio B and sponsored by Wiscasset Creative Alliance. In these workshops, they explored their feelings and experiences through art. Celebrate their works Wednesday, May 14 at Wiscasset Community Center in this pop-up exhibition and join in a free, 5:30 p.m. conversation as we ask: What strengths do young people bring to our community and how can we better support and connect with them?
After the art show, there will be a free screening of “Elisif’s Story,” a documentary about a young artist’s battle with substance use disorder, and her family and friends’ experience in the wake of her death by overdose. The film will be followed by a panel discussion about “Best Practices in Substance Use Prevention.”
These activities are open to the general public.
