Opening day at Wiscasset Speedway 2018

Saturday, April 21, 2018 - 02:43 pm

Opening day got sun, wind and clouds against blue skies Saturday at Wiscasset Speedway. Drivers, their crews and families, and retired drivers and other fans turned out for the season’s first afternoon of racing at the West Alna Road track.

Row after row of pickup trucks and cars filled the parking area. In the pits and the stands, attendees wore long sleeves, layers, some hoods, boots, baseball caps and knit caps. Spectators, some in blankets as the wind gusted, cheered drivers when the cars raced past.
