Dr. Keith Laser, Ed.D, of Bath, Maine was elected superintendent of AOS 98 at the AOS board meeting on May 7.  He is currently the superintendent of Regional School Unit No. 67 in Lincoln, Maine.  He has been in that position for the past four years. His previous positions include school superintendent in Calais, Maine and assistant superintendent of the Auburn School Department as well as principal of elementary schools in Maryland and Pennsylvania, and eight years as high school principal in Reading, Pennsylvania.

Laser, originally from Reading, is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy.  He retired from the Navy after a distinguished career as a naval aviator.  He flew over 3,000 hours and was the commanding officer of a helicopter squadron.  Additionally, he served as the navigator on two nuclear aircraft carriers. In addition to his degree from the Naval Academy, Laser has master’s degrees from the Naval War College, Salve Regina University and Loyola University Maryland.  He earned a doctor of education degree from Nova Southeastern University.
