Anthony Burch of Boothbay Harbor and Arthur McFarland Jr. of Newcastle each recently won $100,000 in the Ultimate Millions game, the Maine State Lottery  has announced. After required state and federal taxes were withheld, each received a $71,000 check, a lottery spokesman said.

Each man bought his ticket locally, Burch at T & D Variety in Boothbay and McFarland at Mike’s Place in Newcastle, according to the information provided. Each store gets a $1,000 bonus, Angie Helton of Northeast Media Associates said in email replies.
