Fresh from the Maine Democratic Party Convention in Lewiston, Westport Island Town Democrats are going to meet Wednesday, May 23, at 7 p.m., at the home of Janet Thompson and Art Webber, 914 Main Rd. The highlight will be a chance to meet with the Democratic legislative candidates for the Maine House and Senate. Holly Stover is the Democrat running for election in House District 89, which includes Westport Island. Laura Fortman is the Democratic running for the Senate seat representing most of Lincoln County.

All registered Westport Island Democrats are encouraged to attend, as well as independents who’d like to meet the candidates and become more aware of the concerns that are driving Democrats this year. Come meet the candidates and see how you can get involved.

If you’re coming from the south end of the island, let’s car pool from the Town Hall to minimize the number of cars at Art and Janet’s. Meet at 6:55 p.m.
