A two-vehicle accident near Wiscasset Lodge on Route One at around 4:45 p.m. Wednesday afternoon sent one person to a hospital.
The accident is still under investigation by the Wiscasset Police Department, Officer James Fisher said.
Another vehicle that stopped to help after the accident slid into the ditch on the North of the Border side of the road; Bob Blagden's wrecker pulled it from the ditch.
Wiscasset Police, Fire, and EMS responded; Brett Strout of the Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office also helped. He had just left a Two Bridges Regional Jail Authority meeting.
Traffic northbound was backed up to Montsweag Road after the accident.
