Lincoln County eyes next budget
An informal overview of Lincoln County’s departments and their expected needs for the next fiscal year was held Sept. 27 at the Communications Center in Wiscasset. Budget workshops start in October.
Expected spending totals $12,095,871, although some numbers may change in the workshops. The county also expects revenues of $1,527,408, making a net budget request of $10,568,463.
Commissioners, County Administrator Carrie Kipfer County Finance Director Michelle Cearbaugh, Stephanie Hawke of Boothbay Harbor, Terry Lowd of Bristol, Katharine Martin-Savage of Wiscasset, Doug Baston of Alna, George Richardson of Westport Island, Jack Sarmanian of Edgecomb, Christopher Doherty of Newcastle, Bud Lewis of Nobleboro, Wendy Pieh of Bremen and Tony Marple of Whitefield are working on the budget. The next workshop is at 6 p.m. Oct. 11 at the Communications Center.
