Irene W. Bogolubsky

Irene W. Bogolubsky, 85, of Boothbay Harbor died March 9, 2013 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

She was born on March 23, 1927 in Yugoslavia, the daughter of Vladimir and Tatiana Bogolubsky. Irene lived in Germany, England and France before moving to the United States in 1955.  She went on to live in New York City and worked at the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronomics as technical director of Technical Information Service. Irene was awarded the Public Service Award by the United States Air Force.

She retired in 1991 and moved to her cottage in Trevett. Being still active, she held several volunteer jobs at Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library, Bigelow Lab and the YMCA.

Irene was predeceased by her parents.  

She is survived by her good friend, Kathleen Mayotte of Trevett.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, March 12 at 10 a.m. at St. Alexander Nevsky Church, Church St. Richmond.  Burial will take place in New York.
