Diabetes Support Group learns about occupational therapy
Join Occupational Therapist Megan McCartney Wednesday, March 27 at the Lincoln County Healthcare Diabetes Support Group meeting to learn more about how occupational therapy can help people with diabetes.
The meeting will take place on the third floor of Miles Memorial Hospital in the Diabetes Education Room.
Occupational Therapist Megan McCartney will share important information that can help people with diabetes better cope with daily living activities. Megan’s bag of tricks includes information about foot care, bathing and dressing as well as strategies to make cooking and cleaning easier.
She will discuss how to organize and remember to take medication. In addition, Megan will talk about how people with diabetes can conserve energy during necessary, everyday tasks so they have more energy to participate in the activities that they enjoy most.
The Lincoln County Healthcare Diabetes Support Group meets7-8:15 p.m. every other month, usually on the fourth Wednesday of the month, to share experiences and send the message that no one should have to deal with diabetes alone.
