Sen. Collins to open Great American Picnic in Waldoboro
Senator Susan Collins will be greeting arrivals at the Great American Picnic at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7 at Dow field, Route 1, in Waldoboro. Due to her very heavy schedule, Sen. Collins will be unable to stay for the entirety of the picnic but hopes to shake hands with as many of her constituents as possible in the time she has. The Lincoln County Republican Committee urges people to come early and stay till the end at 3 p.m. In addition to Collins, former Governor Paul LePage, plus other well-known dignitaries, will be meeting and talking to attendees.
Collins has served the great state of Maine in the U.S. Senate since 1997, and is seeking re-election in November 2020. Other than being the driving force behind the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, Collins has served on the Appropriations Committee and the Select Committee on Intelligence. She has supported the needs of veterans nationwide by protecting access to rural health care. She has served as chairman of the Senate Special Committee on Aging, and has fought tirelessly for the rights and protection of the elderly. Collins was recently voted the most bi-partisan senator in D.C. She has worked across the aisle over 60 percent of the time, her approach to governing an essential to moving our country forward and saving our republic.
