All trunked out!

It was difficult to tell the makes and models of cars parked at Edgecomb Eddy School Friday night, Oct. 25 for “Trunk or Treat,” a free, public event the school’s parent teacher committee sponsored for a fourth year. And in some instances, it was hard to tell cars were parked in the driveway.
Vehicles pulled into the circle in front of the school with their trunks facing out toward the middle and fully displaying family decorating and camouflage talents. Cars were turned into witches’ dens, vampire caves, spider-infested pumpkin patches, action hero haunts, graveyards and hazmat sites.
The event included a book fair, face painting and games. Food was available from Village Idiot Taco Truck and Edgecomb Fire Department, with its guardian angel in costume, Chaplain Kate Pinkham.
The parent teacher committee sold cider and other beverages. “It’s a big event for the school,” said Principal Ira Michaud. He dressed as Tom Brady but with a unique helmet.
“This is a really fun community gathering where we know that everyone is safe,” Michaud said. Judging from students’ excitement, the event was a scary-good success.
