Wiscasset Feed Our Scholars’ Set For Success (S4S) is on track to fulfill basic school supply obligations for the Wiscasset Elementary School children, whether distance learning continues during the 2020-21 school year, or students return to the classroom. Working with different possible scenarios developed by the schools for the next school year, the committee decided that initial basic supplies will be provided with other more general classroom items to be filled in as students return to in-school instruction.

The S4S committee remains resolved to continue its mission even as we are disappointed that we have had to cancel our second annual Set For Success event,. Students’ supply needs cannot be canceled, however, so the group has been working with the school staff to determine each child’s basic must-haves to support a good start to the 2020-21 school year.

Due to situation uncertainties, the need to minimize handling of supplies, as well as the press of time, Feed Our Scholars has made the decision to bulk order rather than to solicit in-kind donations this year.

FOS/S4S had planned fundraising events to be able to support the purchase of the children’s requirements. As the events were not able to happen, Set for Success is reaching out to one and all to please consider making a monetary donation to help accomplish the important goal of the children being Set for Success. Donation cans can be accessed at Big Al’s. Parents who would be shopping for their students’ supplies themselves, instead are encouraged to support the bulk ordering with a contribution. No amount is too small or too large.
