Coburn House goes under contract
The Coburn House in Boothbay is now under contract with a buyer, an auctioneer confirmed October 21.
“We're hoping there will be a closing within 30 days,” Stefan Keenan of Keenan Auction Company said in a telephone interview.
Because the property's owner, the Bank of Maine, reserved the right to negotiate with the high bidder at an October 18 auction in Edgecomb, Keenan said he was unable to release the buyer’s name. However, he did confirm it is the high bidder from the auction.
Poe Cilley of Carleton Realty in Wiscasset and Bath said she was representing someone when she entered the high bid of $75,000. She declined to name the client.
If the buyer doesn't go public sooner, their identity will come out at the Lincoln County Registry of Deeds.
