Start checking your mailboxes, Wiscasset. The town is sending out property tax bills on Thursday, Oct. 24, according to finance department staff.

Selectmen on October 15 set this year’s tax rate at $16.20 per $100,000 of assessed valuation, a 1.89 percent hike from last year.

That will mean $45 more to pay this year on a $150,000 home, Town Manager Laurie Smith has said.
